Welcome to BLOW 2012, our 6th annual creative arts festival.
This year we are very excited to showcase Massey University’s brand new creative arts facility Te Ara Hihiko, in the heart of the Wellington campus. This world leading resource will be the new venue for the major BLOW events in 2012.
Te Ara Hihiko marks a significant development in the way Massey teaches its art and design programmes; with a multi-purpose presentation theatre that can seat 170 people, two-storey green screen studio and state of the art digital audio and computer labs. The College will set a new standard in 21st century art and design teaching. In addition, two floors of flexible studio spaces, multiple galleries and dedicated critique and postgraduate environments will make for an attractive facility for both students and our industry partners.
Many of these spaces will be put to the test by BLOW festival events like the Exposure Exhibition, Massey Fashion Show and the Hall of Fame Gala Dinner. These events have been hosted in the Museum Building on campus for many years, and with the opening of Te Ara Hihiko, have an opportunity to showcase these significant moments with a new vigour.
BLOW will continue to celebrate creative excellence in teaching, research and practice across a multitude of disciplines, and to introduce talented and informative guests from local, national and international creative industries. We are thankful for the ongoing support and contributions of our sponsors and creative colleagues and look forward to presenting another awe-inspiring festival this year.
Information about the BLOW 2012 programme will be posted here from September.
